Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Nguyễn Thi made the kick off and thus started the match. Nguyễn Minh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Thi in the 3rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lê Thuy in the 8th minute of play forced Dong Hung's goalkeeper Trịnh Dong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nguyễn Tran hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Dong Hung's zone, Trần Minh-ha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Trịnh Dong came out of the goal and Trần Minh-ha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lê Thuy in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Trịnh Dong saved Dong Hung from getting behind. Dong Hung's Nguyễn Nhật Minh shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 16th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Nguyễn Minh but with some difficulty. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Trần Minh-ha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Việt Nam's supporters rose to their feet, but Trần Minh-ha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Trịnh Dong breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Trần Minh-ha in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Trịnh Dong prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Trần Minh-ha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Trịnh Dong read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. 26 minutes into the game, Trần Hung was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Việt Nam's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dong Hung the free kick. In the 26th match minute, Việt Nam was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trần Hung to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Minh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Thi in the 27th minute of play. A collision led to Dong Hung getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Nguyễn Tran hit a great ball. Trịnh Dong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lê Thuy in the 31st minute of play. In the 34th minute Lê Thuy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trịnh Dong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Minh stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nguyễn Thi's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Trần Duong's late challenge caught a Dong Hung's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Trần Duong helped the player get up and apologised. In the 40th match minute, Việt Nam was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trần Duong to maneuver through the defense. Hoàng Tấn Dũng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Minh having to interfere. Trần Hung kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. In the 49th minute, Hoàng Tấn Dũng got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Trần Minh-ha made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Hoàng Tấn Dũng managed to get in a good position for a shot. Việt Nam's Trần Thi got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 67th minute, Lê Thuy made a precise shot to the right of Trịnh Dong. Dong Hung's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 71stth minute of the game Hoàng Tấn Dũng who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Việt Nam's Nguyễn Minh was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 75th match minute, Dong Hung was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Thi to maneuver through the defense. Lê Thuy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nguyễn Minh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Thi, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. In the 84th match minute, Dong Hung was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Thi Ngoc to maneuver through the defense. Trần Minh-ha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trịnh Dong having to interfere. Việt Nam's Nguyễn Minh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Thi in the 94th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Thi in the 95th minute of play forced Việt Nam's goalkeeper Nguyễn Minh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Việt Nam's Nguyễn Minh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Thi in the 97th minute of play. 99 minutes into the game, Hoàng Tấn Dũng cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Nguyễn Minh was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Việt Nam were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
