Nguyễn Viet charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nguyễn Viet the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Bien Hoa getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Nguyễn Viet hit a great ball. Đặng Liem kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 4thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Bien Hoa's keeper Nguyễn Lam was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. 8 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Cong Vinh cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Nguyễn Thuy was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lê Tong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Nguyễn Lam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 15 minutes into the match, Mong Cai's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Thi Ngoc came free, but Nguyễn Thuy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nguyễn Lam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lê Tong in the 19th minute of play. In the 23rdth minute of the game Lê Tong who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bien Hoa's Nguyễn Lam was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Đặng Liem sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Bien Hoa booed when Mong Cai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lê Nguyet didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nguyễn Thuy came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Bien Hoa's Nguyễn Cong Vinh. But to his dismay, Nguyễn Cong Vinh quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Lê Tong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience was convinced that Nguyễn Cong Vinh's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nguyễn Thuy was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. If Nguyễn Cong Vinh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bien Hoa's goalkeeper Nguyễn Lam, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nguyễn Thi Ngoc to make the kick off. In the 54th match minute, Bien Hoa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phạm Tong to maneuver through the defense. Đặng Liem struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Nguyễn Lam didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mong Cai. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nguyễn Thi during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Mong Cai booed when Bien Hoa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Thi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 61st minute, Đặng Liem got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 62 minutes, Đặng Liem managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mong Cai's supporters crossed their fingers, but Đặng Liem was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Đặng Liem's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nguyễn Lam read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. Bien Hoa's Nguyễn Lam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Đặng Liem in the 74th minute of play. If Nguyễn Thi Ngoc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Cong Vinh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Nguyễn Thuy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hoàng Lien hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nguyễn Than during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 86th match minute, Bien Hoa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Than to maneuver through the defense. Phạm Tong kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Đặng Tran took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 91st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nguyễn Lam. Bien Hoa's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Lê Tong scored 1-2 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nguyễn Lam, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Mong Cai supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Bien Hoa's performance. The match ended with a win for Bien Hoa.
