Nguyễn Lam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 5 minutes into the game, Phạm Tong was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bien Hoa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Do Son the free kick. After a rather tough play, Bien Hoa's Phạm Tong got a free kick in the 5th minute. The supporters of Do Son booed when Bien Hoa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Thi Ngoc didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Bien Hoa's zone, Lê Thuyet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Lam came out of the goal and Lê Thuyet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nguyễn Viet hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Lê Thuyet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Nguyễn Lam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Bien Hoa getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Nguyễn Viet hit a great ball. Nguyễn Lam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Phan Tong in the 27th minute of play. Bien Hoa's Nguyễn Lam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phan Tong in the 30th minute of play. Bien Hoa's Nguyễn Thi Ngoc got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Phan Tong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Nguyễn Lam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Phan Tong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nguyễn Cong Vinh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Van Tai Em having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Phan Tong made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Do Son's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Cong Vinh came free, but Lê Van Tai Em reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 54 minutes, Nguyễn Cong Vinh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bien Hoa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Cong Vinh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lê Van Tai Em showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Thi Ngoc, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. In the 57thth minute of the game Nguyễn Thi Ngoc who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Do Son's Lê Van Tai Em was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 61st minute of the match Lê Cuc sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lê Van Tai Em skillfully saved the ball. Bien Hoa's Nguyễn Lam proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Bien Hoa from getting a goal against them. Bien Hoa's Phạm Tong got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 66th match minute, Bien Hoa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Viet to maneuver through the defense. If Lê Thuyet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 78 minutes, Lê Thuyet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Do Son's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lê Thuyet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 79 minutes into the match, Phan Tong dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nguyễn Lam, 1-2. Lê Van Tai Em took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Cong Vinh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Phan Tong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Do Son's Đoàn Thai couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 90th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Bien Hoa. An unexpected shot in the 92nd minute by Lê Thuyet got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Nguyễn Viet's late challenge caught a Do Son's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nguyễn Viet helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Do Son booed when Bien Hoa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Viet didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Bien Hoa supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Do Son's performance. The match ended with a win for Do Son.
