Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Vinh Long's Nguyễn Thien started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Tuyen Quang's Lê Tho got a free kick in the 3rd minute. After 5 played minutes Vinh Long got a freekick which was hit by Phạm Minh Phượng. Phan Phu might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nguyễn Quang Thanh. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
