Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Nguyễn Thien got the match started through his kick off. With a little luck, MIAMI's Trần Thai got control of the ball when Nguyễn Nga tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Trần Nam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nguyễn Quang Thanh showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Vinh Long's zone, Nguyễn Tấn Dũng stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Quang Thanh came out of the goal and Nguyễn Tấn Dũng tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nguyễn Tấn Dũng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Quang Thanh having to interfere. MIAMI's defense didn't have a chance, in the 42nd minute, when Nguyễn Thien scored to the left of an out of position Trần Thai, making the score, 1-0. In the 45th match minute, Vinh Long was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Van Tai Em to maneuver through the defense. The referee gave MIAMI a penalty, 47 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Nguyễn Duc, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Vinh Long's Nguyễn Quang Thanh. 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

53 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Thien notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of MIAMI's Trần Thai. Trần Thai was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 59thth minute of the game Trần Nam who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vinh Long's Nguyễn Quang Thanh was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. MIAMI's Trần Thai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Thien in the 96th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Vinh Long fans cheered their team off the field, for while MIAMI had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
