Yen Bai's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MUvnFC the free kick. In the 6th match minute, Yen Bai was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vũ Chi to maneuver through the defense. Yen Bai's Hoàng Khoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Võ Van Tai Em in the 7th minute of play. If Nguyễn Tran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Tran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Yen Bai's Nguyễn Hoa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Phan Binh. That made the score 1-0 after 12 minutes of play. Nguyễn Hoa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Phan Binh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 21 played minutes Nguyễn Hoa rounded MUvnFC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. Võ Van Tai Em sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nguyễn Hoa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With an all-out effort, MUvnFC's Hoàng Khoi threw himself towards the right post 54 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Võ Van Tai Em, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The supporters of MUvnFC booed when Yen Bai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phạm Hoang didn't get a good kick on the ball. MUvnFC's Nguyễn Phuc got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 59 minutes into the game, Yen Bai's Đặng Hoa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Phan Binh made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Hoàng Khoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Võ Van Tai Em in the 64th minute of the match. 69 minutes into the match, Yen Bai's Nguyễn Tran sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Phan Binh narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 71st minute Nguyễn Tran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Phan Binh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Phan Thanh Bình charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Phan Thanh Bình the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 75th minute, Phan Thanh Bình hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Tran in the 80th minute of play forced MUvnFC's goalkeeper Phan Binh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nguyễn Tran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Phan Binh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Nguyễn Hoa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Yen Bai fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Nguyễn Tran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in MUvnFC's zone, Nguyễn Hoa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Phan Binh came out of the goal and Nguyễn Hoa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 93 minutes into the match, Yen Bai's goalkeeper Hoàng Khoi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nguyễn Phuc. Hoàng Khoi made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Nguyễn Phuc sent off a good shot on target. Yen Bai walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
