Triệu Bay started the match with the kick off. 6 minutes into the match, Hanoi's goal looked a bit too open when Vũ Ho came free, but Nguyễn Tan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 6th minute, Trương Hoang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Trần Hoang took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Nguyễn Dung to make any attempt to save it. Trần Hoang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rd minute Trần Hoang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Dung saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Tan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Triệu Bay in the 24th minute of the match. Nguyễn Dung took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trần Hoang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th match minute, Bien Hoa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Tuan to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Dung stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Trần Hoang's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Nguyễn Tan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Triệu Bay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Bien Hoa booed when Hanoi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lê Thi didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 34 played minutes, Bien Hoa's Liễu Hoang shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nguyễn Tan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bien Hoa reached it. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hanoi's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Liễu Hoang was slow to take the kick. During this time Bien Hoa's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Liễu Hoang got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Nguyễn Tan quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After having played for 37 minutes, Vũ Ho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bien Hoa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vũ Ho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nguyễn Tan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vũ Ho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 39 minutes into the match, Vũ Ho notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Hanoi's Nguyễn Tan. Nguyễn Tan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 45 minutes, Phan Thanh Bình mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hanoi and the Bien Hoa players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 45th minute, Phan Thanh Bình hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Trần Hoang to strike the kick off in the second half. Bùi Thi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Nguyễn Dung tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nguyễn Dung showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bùi Thi, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 72nd minute, Vũ Ho made a precise shot to the right of Nguyễn Tan. Hanoi's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. The audience was convinced that Trần Hoang's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nguyễn Dung was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Nguyễn Dung showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trần Hoang, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. 90 minutes into the match, Hanoi's goal looked a bit too open when Triệu Bay came free, but Nguyễn Tan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Trần Hoang's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nguyễn Dung read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. When Triệu Bay came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Bien Hoa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Triệu Bay couldn't finish the play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Bien Hoa eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
