Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Trần Huynh Duc got the match started through his kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Nam had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lê Phong. Phan Thiet's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nguyễn Nam was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Nguyễn Nam took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lê Phong. Lê Phong dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Phan Thiet's Lê Phong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Tuan in the 10th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Phan Thiet's Trần Huynh Duc slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nguyễn Chung. That made the score 1-2 after 13 minutes of play. 18 minutes into the match, Trần Huynh Duc dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nguyễn Chung, 2-2. A collision led to Phan Thiet getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Nguyễn Hoang hit a great ball. Lê Phong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Nam in the 23rd minute of play. Lê Phong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Nam, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hồ Hung struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Lê Phong didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Buon Ma Thuot. If Nguyễn Nam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Phan Thiet's Nguyễn Thanh Bình got a free kick in the 32nd minute. 37 minutes into the game, Buon Ma Thuot's Nguyễn Nam nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lê Phong made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. After 40 minutes, Nguyễn Nam made it 2-4 with a short kick to the right side. Phan Thiet's Lê Phong tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Phan Thiet's Trần Huynh Duc in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Buon Ma Thuot's goalie prevented a goal. Lê Phong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hồ Hung in the 48th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
If Đoàn Hanh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Nam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Lê Phong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nguyễn Thanh Bình fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Chung having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Nguyễn Thanh Bình's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nguyễn Chung was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. When Nguyễn Duc fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Buon Ma Thuot's protests and gave Nguyễn Duc a yellow card for diving instead. Nguyễn Duc kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. In the 79th minute, Đoàn Hanh got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Phan Thiet's Lê Phong proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Phan Thiet from getting a goal against them. Trần Huynh Duc struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Nguyễn Chung didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Phan Thiet. 88 minutes into the match, Phan Thiet's goalkeeper Lê Phong had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nguyễn Nam. Nguyễn Chung took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Đoàn Hanh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 91 minutes, Trần Huynh Duc managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Phan Thiet's supporters crossed their fingers, but Trần Huynh Duc was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Trần Huynh Duc recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Buon Ma Thuot walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
