Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Phan Thiet's Trần Huynh Duc started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lê Phong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Triệu Bay in the 3rd minute of the match. After 7 minutes, Vũ Ho made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Phan Thiet's Lê Phong tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 10th minute, Nguyễn Thanh Bình hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 15 played minutes Phan Thiet got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Hoang. The audience was convinced that Triệu Bay's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lê Phong was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Trần Huynh Duc's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nguyễn Dung read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. Nguyễn Phuc kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Nguyễn Dung showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Đoàn Hanh in the 27th minute of the match. Bien Hoa's Nguyễn Dung played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trần Huynh Duc in the 38th minute of play. Phan Tuan kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. In the 40th minute Liễu Hoang managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. Nguyễn Dung made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Đoàn Hanh in the 43rd minute of play. Nguyễn Dung showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trần Huynh Duc, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The supporters of Phan Thiet booed when Bien Hoa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bùi Dung didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Vũ Ho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bien Hoa's supporters rose to their feet, but Vũ Ho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lê Phong breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 58th minute, Nguyễn Thanh Bình got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 67 minutes into the game, Phan Thiet's Đoàn Hanh nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nguyễn Dung made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Vũ Ho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Phong having to interfere. When Trần Huynh Duc came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Phan Thiet fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Trần Huynh Duc couldn't finish the play. Lê Phong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Triệu Bay in the 90th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Phan Thiet's Đoàn Hanh got a free kick in the 94th minute. In the 96th minute, Nguyễn Hoang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Phan Thiet's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
