Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Vinh Long's Nguyễn Thien started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Vinh Long's goal looked a bit too open when Triệu Bay came free, but Nguyễn Quang Thanh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 4 played minutes Bien Hoa got a freekick which was hit by Bùi Dung. After recieving a nice pass, Vinh Long's Trần Nguyet tried to score from far away in the 5th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Vũ Ho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Quang Thanh having to interfere. If Nguyễn Nga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Quang Thanh came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Bien Hoa's Vũ Ho. But to his dismay, Vũ Ho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 20th minute Nguyễn Thien shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Dung saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st minute, Nguyễn Thien got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vũ Ho charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vũ Ho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 23rd match minute, Bien Hoa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vũ Ho to maneuver through the defense. If Nguyễn Thien had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31stth minute of the game Triệu Bay who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vinh Long's Nguyễn Quang Thanh was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Triệu Bay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Quang Thanh having to interfere. Vũ Ho might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nguyễn Quang Thanh. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vũ Ho ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 38th minute Nguyễn Thien shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Dung saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Nguyễn Thien came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Vinh Long fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Thien couldn't finish the play. Triệu Bay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Quang Thanh having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
The wind increased when Triệu Bay made the kick off in the second half. Triệu Bay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Nguyễn Quang Thanh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vũ Ho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nguyễn Quang Thanh having to make a save. After 62 minutes of play, Vinh Long's Nguyễn Thien made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nguyễn Dung was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vũ Ho who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 65thth minute tested the skills of Nguyễn Quang Thanh when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Nguyễn Thien had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 70 minutes into the match, Vũ Ho notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Vinh Long's Nguyễn Quang Thanh. Nguyễn Quang Thanh was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 74thth minute of the game Nguyễn Thien who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bien Hoa's Nguyễn Dung was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vinh Long's Nguyễn Quang Thanh proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Vinh Long from getting a goal against them. In the 77th minute, Nguyễn Minh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vũ Ho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Quang Thanh having to interfere. Nguyễn Dung showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Nga, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. After 80 minutes, Nguyễn Bien mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bien Hoa and the Vinh Long players grew even worse after the yellow card. Nguyễn Nga blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nguyễn Dung having to make a save. Vinh Long's Nguyễn Quang Thanh proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Vinh Long from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Vinh Long booed when Bien Hoa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Liễu Hoang didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Bien Hoa supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bien Hoa would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
