In the 20th minute, one of Mong Cai:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Mong Cai. When the match had been going on for 23 minutes, haohan's Huỳnh Thanh Bình got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Chung Nhật Minh. In the 26th minute, Trần Ho made a precise shot to the right of Chung Nhật Minh. Mong Cai's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Hoàng Tho came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Mong Cai's Nguyễn Hong. But to his dismay, Nguyễn Hong quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. In the 38th match minute, haohan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Nam to maneuver through the defense.

Hoàng Tho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Thuyet in the 55th minute of play. Nguyễn Nam kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. 57 minutes into the match, haohan's goalkeeper Hoàng Tho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nguyễn Mai. In the 60th minute Nguyễn Thuyet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hoàng Tho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, haohan's Hoàng Tho got control of the ball when Nguyễn Mai tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hoàng Tho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nguyễn Mai in the 63rd minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 65 minutes into the game, when Nguyễn Huy put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 65th minute of the game. One of haohan:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mong Cai:s goal. Nguyễn Nam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chung Nhật Minh having to interfere. Huỳnh Thanh Bình took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Chung Nhật Minh. Chung Nhật Minh dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-4. After a defensive mix-up in haohan's zone, Trần Minh-ha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hoàng Tho came out of the goal and Trần Minh-ha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 82 played minutes Mong Cai got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Tấn Dũng. Chung Nhật Minh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Huỳnh Thanh Bình in the 85th minute of the match. In the 89th minute, Mong Cai's Nguyễn Mai dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-5. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Huỳnh Thanh Bình managed to get in a good position for a shot. haohan's supporters rose to their feet, but Huỳnh Thanh Bình was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chung Nhật Minh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mong Cai's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
