Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Nguyễn Liem got the match started through his kick off. Nguyễn Hong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Liem in the 3rd minute of the match. In the 8th minute, Phạm Phong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chung Tuan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Trần Chuong recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lương Hong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chung Tuan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute Trần Chuong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lương Hong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Liem blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nguyễn Hong having to make a save. Trần Chuong's late challenge caught a Quang Ninh's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Trần Chuong helped the player get up and apologised. Nguyễn Hong made an important save on a dangerous shot by Phạm Thi in the 32nd minute. Lê Tinh hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Lương Hong didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Nam Dinh's Chung Tuan shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Quang Ninh's Lương Hong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trần Chuong in the 38th minute of play. The supporters of Nam Dinh booed when Quang Ninh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lê Thai didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Chung Tuan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lê Thai was shown his second yellow card after 47 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 48 played minutes Quang Ninh got a freekick which was hit by Lê Thai. After the first half Nam Dinh were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Trần Chuong stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Nguyễn Liem managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Quang Ninh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Liem was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Phạm Thi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Hong having to interfere. 58 minutes into the game, Quang Ninh's Phạm Thi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nguyễn Hong made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Nam Dinh's Nguyễn Hong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phạm Thi in the 62nd minute of play. Phạm Thi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 67 minutes into the match, Quang Ninh's goalkeeper Lương Hong had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Chung Tuan. In the 69th match minute, Quang Ninh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lê Tinh to maneuver through the defense. Chung Tuan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lương Hong having to interfere. Trần Chuong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Lương Hong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Hoàng Dong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Phạm Thi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Nguyễn Tinh fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nam Dinh's protests and gave Nguyễn Tinh a yellow card for diving instead. After 85 played minutes Nam Dinh got a freekick which was hit by Nghiêm Phuoc. The crowd rose to their feet as Nam Dinh's Trần Chuong slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lương Hong. That made the score 1-2 after 89 minutes of play. The Nam Dinh supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Nam Dinh would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
