Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nguyễn Hoang started the match with the kick off. In the 2ndth minute of the game Nguyễn Lan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rach Gia's Trần Mai was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Đặng Bien fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phạm Khoi having to interfere. In the 10th minute, Nguyễn Hoang ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Phạm Khoi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Đinh Liem fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Mai having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Lan in the 24th minute of play forced Rach Gia's goalkeeper Trần Mai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lê Hung scored 0-2 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Phạm Khoi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Nguyễn Lan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Mai having to interfere. Trần Mai didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 43rd minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. When Trần Tong fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lang Son's protests and gave Trần Tong a yellow card for diving instead. In the 47th minute, Trần Tong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Rach Gia were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nguyễn Lan was the one to do the kick off. Trần Mai stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Đinh Liem's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Đinh Liem succeeded in the game's 54th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-2. Đặng Bien took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Phạm Khoi. Phạm Khoi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. Lang Son's Nguyễn Lan got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Trần Mai showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Đinh Liem in the 67th minute of the match. Đặng Bien sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Võ Tuan hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. In the 77th minute, Nguyễn Nguyet sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Lang Son's Phạm Khoi didn't even have to move. Trần Mai showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Đinh Liem, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. After 87 minutes, Nguyễn Hoang mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rach Gia and the Lang Son players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Lan in the 96th minute of play forced Rach Gia's goalkeeper Trần Mai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Rach Gia players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Lang Son from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
