Việt Nam's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Minh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lê Bay breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Đoàn Dung struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Trần Hanh didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ca Mau. A collision led to Ca Mau getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Nguyễn Ritchell hit a great ball. If Nguyễn Minh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Việt Nam defense, Phạm Loc kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Trần Hanh. The Việt Nam fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Trần Hanh should have stopped the shot. After 92 played minutes Ca Mau got a freekick which was hit by Phạm Loc. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
