Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Đặng Bien started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After 9 minutes, Lê Hung mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rach Gia and the Ca Mau players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 9 played minutes Rach Gia got a freekick which was hit by Lê Hung. Nguyễn Ritchell took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 10th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Trần Mai. Rach Gia's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Lê Bay was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Đặng Bien showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 11 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Ritchell in the 19th minute of play forced Rach Gia's goalkeeper Trần Mai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lê Hung kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Phạm Loc took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Trần Mai. Trần Mai dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 26 minutes into the match, Ca Mau's goal looked a bit too open when Đặng Bien came free, but Lê Bay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nguyễn Tinh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Bay having to interfere. Rach Gia's Trần Mai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Ritchell in the 31st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Đoàn Dung managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ca Mau's supporters rose to their feet, but Đoàn Dung was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Trần Mai breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Rach Gia's zone, Nguyễn Ritchell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Trần Mai came out of the goal and Nguyễn Ritchell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Trần Mai stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Đoàn Dung's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nguyễn Ritchell made a kick off. Nguyễn Tinh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Lê Bay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Phạm Hieu Ngan hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. The supporters of Ca Mau booed when Rach Gia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Binh didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nguyễn Tinh struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Lê Bay didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rach Gia. A collision led to Ca Mau getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Bùi Tuan hit a great ball. Trần Mai showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Ritchell in the 64th minute of the match. After having played for 73 minutes, Đoàn Dung managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ca Mau's supporters crossed their fingers, but Đoàn Dung was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lê Bay stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Đặng Bien's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Trần Mai made an important save on a dangerous shot by Đoàn Dung in the 88th minute. Nguyễn Tinh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Bay having to interfere. Ca Mau's Lê Bay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Đặng Bien in the 93rd minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Rach Gia fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ca Mau had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
