Nguyễn Phuong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Quang in the 3rd minute of the match. Lê Phong was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nguyễn Phuong showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 9 minute of play. After 12 played minutes Dong Xoai got a freekick which was hit by Trần Hoang. Tuyen Quang's Nguyễn Phuong got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Phan Mai came free with the goalkeeper in the 19th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Lê Phong could save by the left post. Nguyễn Phuong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Đặng Loc, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Tuyen Quang's Phan Mai got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Phan Mai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38thth minute of the game Nguyễn Quang who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tuyen Quang's Nguyễn Phuong was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Dong Xoai booed when Tuyen Quang was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Phuc didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nguyễn Phuong came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Dong Xoai's Đặng Loc. A collision led to Tuyen Quang getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Nguyễn Thi Ngoc hit a great ball. Dong Xoai's Trần Hoang was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Nguyễn Phuong in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The supporters of Tuyen Quang booed when Dong Xoai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Đặng Ho didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Nguyễn Phuong came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Tuyen Quang fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Phuong couldn't finish the play. Phan Mai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Lê Phong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nguyễn Phuong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Phong having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Dong Xoai eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
