Trần Tan hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Nguyễn Tuan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Nguyễn Duy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Lang Son getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Đặng Teo hit a great ball. Ca Mau's Trần Tan got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nguyễn Ritchell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Than having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trần Huynh Duc in the 25th minute of play forced Ca Mau's goalkeeper Nguyễn Than to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Nguyễn Tuan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Ritchell blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nguyễn Than having to make a save. Nguyễn Ritchell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Than having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Lang Son's Trần Huy got a free kick in the 44th minute. Nguyễn Duy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trần Tan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

After a defensive mix-up in Lang Son's zone, Trần Tan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Duy came out of the goal and Trần Tan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Đặng Teo hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. In the 66thth minute of the game Nguyễn Tuan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lang Son's Nguyễn Duy was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 69 played minutes Ca Mau got a freekick which was hit by Trần Tan. In the 72nd match minute, Lang Son was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phan Dung to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Than was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Trần Huynh Duc showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 75 minute of play. Đặng Teo hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Trần Huynh Duc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Than having to interfere. Nguyễn Duy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trần Tan, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Lang Son walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
