The audience thought a goal was coming when Lâm Quang got free with Phạm Chung in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Huỳnh Phuc made the kick off in the second half. New Generation Future's Trần Tuyet got his second yellow card of the match in the 53rd minute. Phạm Chung didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lâm Quang went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 68th minute, Nguyễn Dinh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vũ Chi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Thuy having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Lâm Quang's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Phạm Chung was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. Phạm Chung showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lâm Quang in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 77th minute, Huỳnh Phuc got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Mai Bien came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Vinh Long fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mai Bien couldn't finish the play. 82 minutes into the game, Hoàng Thi Ngoc was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vinh Long's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave New Generation Future the free kick. After 82 played minutes Vinh Long got a freekick which was hit by Hoàng Thi Ngoc. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. New Generation Future had won after a very even match.
