Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Vinh Long's Huỳnh Phuc started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nguyễn Viet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Phạm Chung tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Hoàng Thi Ngoc fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vinh Long's protests and gave Hoàng Thi Ngoc a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Vinh Long getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Hoàng Thi Ngoc hit a great ball. In the 13th minute, Lê Tu fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When Mai Bien fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vinh Long's protests and gave Mai Bien a yellow card for diving instead. Mai Bien hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. 15 minutes into the match, Dak Lak's Trần Xuan broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Vũ Chi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Tu having to interfere. Phạm Chung showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lê Tu in the 18th minute of the match. Nguyễn Tu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Huỳnh Phuc in the 22nd minute of play. Vũ Chi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vinh Long's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Lê Tu 27 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nguyễn Viet got free with Phạm Chung in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Dak Lak's Lê Tu in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vinh Long's goalie prevented a goal. Nguyễn Viet could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Phạm Chung made a huge save. After 41st play minutes Lê Tu shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Phạm Chung and just under the crossbar into goal. Nguyễn Viet blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Phạm Chung having to make a save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lê Tu was the one to do the kick off. Vinh Long's Vũ Chi got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Vinh Long getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Mai Bien hit a great ball. Lê Tu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 73 minutes of play, Dak Lak's Lê Tu made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Phạm Chung was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 76th minute, Vinh Long's Huỳnh Phuc dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1. Nguyễn Viet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phạm Chung having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Dak Lak's Chung Hieu got a free kick in the 82nd minute. The audience was convinced that Huỳnh Phuc's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nguyễn Tu was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. After having played for 86 minutes, Huỳnh Phuc managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vinh Long's supporters crossed their fingers, but Huỳnh Phuc was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vũ Chi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Tu having to interfere.
