Fi Fai's Trần Nam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Võ Minh Phượng in the 6th minute of play. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Phu Ly's goalkeeper Phạm Nam, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With splendid footwork Nguyễn Thanh Bình arrived in front of goal to shoot 1-0 by the left pole in the game's 10th minute. Phan Hong received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Phạm Nam came out and tried to block the shot, but Phan Hong slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 15th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Fi Fai's zone, Nguyễn Diem stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Trần Nam came out of the goal and Nguyễn Diem tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Võ Minh Phượng recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 31 minutes into the game, Hoàng Minh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fi Fai's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Phu Ly the free kick. Hoàng Minh kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Trần Nam showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Võ Minh Phượng, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. If Nguyễn Thuyet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 40 minutes into the game, Hoàng Dinh recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Phạm Nam. Hoàng Dinh showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. Võ Minh Phượng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Nam having to interfere. Võ Minh Phượng sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nguyễn Thanh Bình to make the kick off. In the 50th match minute, Phu Ly was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Đặng Viet to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Thanh Bình fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phạm Nam having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Phu Ly's Trần Dung got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Phạm Nam showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Thanh Bình, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Nguyễn Thanh Bình fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phạm Nam having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Nguyễn Diem could shoot a difficult shot in the 68th minute, which Trần Nam however easily saved by the left post. In the 72nd minute, Phan Hong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nguyễn Thanh Bình might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Phạm Nam. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nguyễn Thanh Bình ran back to his position shaking his head. Phạm Nam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Thanh Bình in the 85th minute of play. In the 85th minute, Nguyễn Thanh Bình made a precise shot to the right of Phạm Nam. Phu Ly's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. The supporters of Phu Ly booed when Fi Fai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hoàng Minh didn't get a good kick on the ball. Võ Minh Phượng was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 94th minute. Phu Ly's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Fi Fai had played much better football throughout.
