When Đoàn Thanh Bình came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Dong Nai fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Đoàn Thanh Bình couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Paris Saint-Iceland's Nguyễn Hoai got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Nguyễn Cong Vinh didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lê Hong went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Đoàn Thanh Bình sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Hồ Chuong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

After 53 played minutes Dong Nai got a freekick which was hit by Trần Lan. Đoàn Thanh Bình struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Nguyễn Cong Vinh didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dong Nai. A collision led to Dong Nai getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Hồ Quang hit a great ball. Nguyễn Hieu Ngan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Hieu having to interfere. Lê Hieu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hồ Chuong in the 71st minute of play. Đoàn Thanh Bình received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Nguyễn Cong Vinh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nguyễn Hieu Ngan kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. When Nguyễn Hoai was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 78 minutes had been played. The supporters of Dong Nai booed when Paris Saint-Iceland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Hoai didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Dong Nai's goalkeeper Lê Hieu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Đoàn Thanh Bình had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 85 minutes of play, Dong Nai's Lê Hong made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nguyễn Cong Vinh was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 93rd minute, Lê Hong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dong Nai played a much better game than Paris Saint-Iceland and deserved their victory. The Paris Saint-Iceland players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
