Paris Saint-Iceland's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tien Giang the free kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nguyễn Hieu Ngan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 90 minutes, Nguyễn Hieu Ngan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paris Saint-Iceland's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Hieu Ngan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nguyễn Hieu Ngan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lê Tuan having to make a save. Bùi Bay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tien Giang's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
