Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Nguyễn Minh-ha charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nguyễn Minh-ha the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dương Than showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Lien in the 8th minute of the match. Lê Hung showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Duong, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Phạm Hieu kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Hoàng Thai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Hung having to interfere. Nguyễn Minh-ha struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Dương Than didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vi Thanh. If Hoàng Thai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Minh-ha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Nha Trang booed when Vi Thanh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trần Xuan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hoàng Thai took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lê Hung. Lê Hung dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Vi Thanh's goalkeeper Lê Hung, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hoàng Thai might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lê Hung. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hoàng Thai ran back to his position shaking his head. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
The wind increased when Nguyễn Minh-ha made the kick off in the second half. Nguyễn Lam's late challenge caught a Nha Trang's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nguyễn Lam helped the player get up and apologised. After 51 played minutes Vi Thanh got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Lam. 58 minutes into the match, Vi Thanh's Nguyễn Lien sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dương Than narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nguyễn Minh-ha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Nguyễn Minh-ha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dương Than was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. Nha Trang's Dương Than played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Minh-ha in the 64th minute of play. Lê Hung took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Duong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Trần Dong hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. A hard shot 71 in the game by Nguyễn Lien from a close distance when the talented Dương Than managed to make a qualified save. Nha Trang's players were relieved. When Nha Trang's Hoàng Thai in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vi Thanh's goalie prevented a goal. Dương Than made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Minh-ha in the 73rd minute of play. Nguyễn Duong blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lê Hung having to make a save. Lê Hung made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hoàng Thai in the 76th minute of play. Nguyễn Duong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st match minute, Vi Thanh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trần Xuan to maneuver through the defense. When Nha Trang's Nguyễn Duong in 92 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Lê Hung guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hoàng Thai in the 93rd minute of play forced Vi Thanh's goalkeeper Lê Hung to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Nguyễn Lien managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vi Thanh's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Lien was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dương Than breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nha Trang's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
