Nha Trang's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paris Saint-Iceland the free kick. 10 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Hieu Ngan dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dương Than, 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nguyễn Duong in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nguyễn Cong Vinh saved Paris Saint-Iceland from getting behind. Paris Saint-Iceland's Nguyễn Cong Vinh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Duong in the 19th minute of play. Dương Than acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 22nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Đỗ Thanh Bình. If Hoàng Thai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Hoàng Thai came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Nha Trang fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hoàng Thai couldn't finish the play. Nguyễn Duong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Cong Vinh having to interfere. Nha Trang's attack was well implemented in the 36th minute, but when Nguyễn Duong was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Nha Trang's Hoàng Thai got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dương Than took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Hieu Ngan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nguyễn Tấn Dũng hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Hoàng Thai struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Nguyễn Cong Vinh didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nha Trang. 46 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Nhật Minh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nha Trang's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paris Saint-Iceland the free kick. The supporters of Paris Saint-Iceland booed when Nha Trang was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Nhật Minh didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nguyễn Duong to make the kick off. After 55 minutes of play Paris Saint-Iceland's Lê Hieu was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 62 minutes of play, Nha Trang's Hoàng Thai made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nguyễn Cong Vinh was left in no man's land by his defense there! 68 minutes into the match, Lê Hieu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nguyễn Cong Vinh. Paris Saint-Iceland's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lê Hieu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After a rather tough play, Paris Saint-Iceland's Nguyễn Van Quyen got a free kick in the 71st minute. Hoàng Thai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Nguyễn Cong Vinh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hoàng Thai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Cong Vinh having to interfere. Hoàng Thai could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Nguyễn Cong Vinh made a huge save. When Nha Trang's Nguyễn Duong in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Paris Saint-Iceland's goalie prevented a goal. Hồ Chuong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dương Than having to interfere. Nguyễn Cong Vinh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Cong Vinh in the 91st minute of play. Nguyễn Van Quyen kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. In the 97th minute, Hoàng Thai got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nha Trang's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
