Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Nguyễn Duong started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After having played for 9 minutes, Trịnh Tho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Phan Rang-Thap Cham's supporters crossed their fingers, but Trịnh Tho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 13 minutes into the game, Hoàng Thai cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Nguyễn Cuc was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 19 played minutes Phan Rang-Thap Cham got a freekick which was hit by Lê Binh. When Phan Rang-Thap Cham's Đặng Ho in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Nha Trang's goalie prevented a goal. Đặng Ho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Đặng Ho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Nha Trang's Nguyễn Duong in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Phan Rang-Thap Cham's goalie prevented a goal. Lê Binh hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Nguyễn Thuyet hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. A long shot from Trần Dong in the 35th minute of play was well struck, but Nguyễn Cuc made a really good save at the right post. Nguyễn Cuc made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Hoàng Thai sent off a good shot on target. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Phan Phong to strike the kick off in the second half. Đặng Ho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Dương Than tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 53rd minute Phan Phong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dương Than saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 54th minute, Bùi Huynh Duc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nha Trang's Nguyễn Duong got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 72nd minute, Phan Phong reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dương Than. The goal made the score 2-2. After a rather tough play, Phan Rang-Thap Cham's Nguyễn Thuyet got a free kick in the 75th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phan Phong in the 77th minute of play forced Nha Trang's goalkeeper Dương Than to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Đặng Ho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Nha Trang's goalkeeper Dương Than, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Phan Rang-Thap Cham's Nguyễn Thuyet shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 90th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Dương Than but with some difficulty. Hoàng Thai blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nguyễn Cuc having to make a save. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
