Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) 4 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Van Tai Em was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dong Son's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PHI HUNG the free kick. Trần Thi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Anh Hung having to interfere. In the 11th minute, Bùi Viet fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Võ Lan, passed just outside the right post. After a rather tough play, Dong Son's Nguyễn Nhật Minh got a free kick in the 15th minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 16th minute of the game. One of Dong Son:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of PHI HUNG:s goal. Đặng Huynh Duc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Nguyễn Anh Hung tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. PHI HUNG's Lê Huỳnh got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 30th minute Trần Loc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Võ Lan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Huỳnh Nguyet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Dong Son's Nguyễn Nhật Minh got a free kick in the 39th minute. Vũ Tuan was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 40th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Trần Loc to make the kick off. After 52 minutes, Trương Huy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the PHI HUNG and the Dong Son players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 53 minutes, Bùi Viet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dong Son's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bùi Viet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 60th match minute, PHI HUNG was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Huỳnh Nguyet to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Đặng Huynh Duc managed to get in a good position for a shot. PHI HUNG's supporters rose to their feet, but Đặng Huynh Duc was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nguyễn Anh Hung breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 67thth minute of the game Trần Loc who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PHI HUNG's Võ Lan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Trần Loc recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 73rd minute, Huỳnh Nguyet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 92 minutes into the match, PHI HUNG's goal looked a bit too open when Trần Loc came free, but Võ Lan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 94 minutes into the match, PHI HUNG's goal looked a bit too open when Bùi Viet came free, but Võ Lan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
