Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nguyễn Hong started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the game, Bắc Ninh's Nghiêm Cadeo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Liễu Quang made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 12 minutes into the match, Bắc Ninh's Trịnh Lien broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nghiêm Cadeo in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Liễu Quang prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Nguyễn Tuyet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 29th match minute, Bắc Ninh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Võ Loc to maneuver through the defense. Liễu Quang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nghiêm Cadeo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute, Nguyễn Hong made a precise shot to the right of Nguyễn Loc. Bắc Ninh's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. 40 minutes into the game, Phùng Tuan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Liễu Quang was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 43rd minute, Trịnh Lien hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 47 minutes into the match, Bắc Ninh's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Hong came free, but Nguyễn Loc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Phùng Tuan to make the kick off. Nguyễn Tuyet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Phùng Tuan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Liễu Quang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Phùng Tuan, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Nguyễn Hoang kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. In the 60th match minute, Bắc Ninh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nghiêm Cadeo to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Loc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Tuyet in the 61st minute of the match. Cao Lanh's Nguyễn Tuyet got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Phùng Tuan in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Liễu Quang saved Cao Lanh from getting behind. In the 67th minute, Nguyễn Tuyet got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Liễu Quang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Phùng Tuan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Phùng Tuan came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Bắc Ninh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phùng Tuan couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Bắc Ninh getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Mai Hung hit a great ball. Nguyễn Hoang struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Nguyễn Loc didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cao Lanh. If Nguyễn Tuyet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 84th minute, Bắc Ninh's Nghiêm Cadeo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Liễu Quang. Liễu Quang yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. A collision led to Bắc Ninh getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Mai Hung hit a great ball. Nguyễn Loc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Tuyet in the 88th minute of the match. Liễu Quang made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nghiêm Cadeo in the 94th minute. 96 minutes into the match, Bắc Ninh's Trịnh Lien broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Bắc Ninh's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
