The supporters of Cao Lanh booed when PHI HUNG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lê Huỳnh didn't get a good kick on the ball. Liễu Quang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Đặng Huynh Duc, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Cao Lanh's Nguyễn Tuyet got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Trần Thi struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Liễu Quang didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PHI HUNG. Trương Huy kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Cao Lanh's Đào Huynh Duc got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 34th minute, Vũ Tuan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Đào Huynh Duc, 34 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nguyễn Hong to make the kick off. Nguyễn Hong took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Võ Lan. In the 86th match minute, Cao Lanh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trần Hoai to maneuver through the defense. In the 87th minute of the match Vũ Tuan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Liễu Quang skillfully saved the ball. Nguyễn Hoang hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Liễu Quang made an important save on a dangerous shot by Trần Thi in the 96th minute. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
