Nguyễn Lam might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vương Huynh Duc. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nguyễn Lam ran back to his position shaking his head. Nguyễn Tấn Dũng sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phan Dung in the 18th minute of play forced Son Tay's goalkeeper Vương Huynh Duc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vương Huynh Duc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phan Dung in the 20th minute of the match. After 25 minutes of play, Son Tay's Lê Minh-ha made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Phan Thi Ngoc was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nguyễn Viet kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Long Tan's Nguyễn Lam got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Phan Thi Ngoc made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Lê Minh-ha sent off a good shot on target. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
After a rather tough play, Long Tan's Nguyễn Lan got a free kick in the 52nd minute. 53 minutes into the match, Son Tay's Hoàng Viet broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Nguyễn Lam managed to get in a good position for a shot. Long Tan's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Lam was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vương Huynh Duc breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 55 minutes into the match, Long Tan's Nguyễn Lam sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vương Huynh Duc narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Phan Thi Ngoc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Tấn Dũng in the 59th minute of the match. Nguyễn Quang kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Phan Thi Ngoc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Tấn Dũng in the 90th minute of play. A collision led to Son Tay getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Trần Mai hit a great ball. When Nguyễn Lam got free in front of the goal in the 97th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Vương Huynh Duc was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
