Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Phan Thi Ngoc was a little too slow when Ngô Binh got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 5th minute. The score was now 1-0. After 10 played minutes Long Tan got a freekick which was hit by Phan Dung. Nguyễn Duc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Phạm Nam kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Huỳnh Tấn Dũng got free with Phan Thi Ngoc in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Phan Dung received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Lê Phuong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Long Tan's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Ngô Binh 19 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. When Huỳnh Tấn Dũng came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Lao Cai fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Huỳnh Tấn Dũng couldn't finish the play. If Huỳnh Tấn Dũng had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 26 minutes into the match, Lao Cai's Huỳnh Tấn Dũng sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Phan Thi Ngoc narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Lê Lien fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lao Cai's protests and gave Lê Lien a yellow card for diving instead. In the 28th match minute, Lao Cai was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lê Lien to maneuver through the defense. Huỳnh Tấn Dũng sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Phan Thi Ngoc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ngô Binh in the 34th minute of play. After 36 played minutes Lao Cai got a freekick which was hit by Lê Lien. If Nguyễn Lam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Phạm Nam charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Phạm Nam the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 40 played minutes Long Tan got a freekick which was hit by Phạm Nam. After having played for 44 minutes, Nguyễn Lam managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Long Tan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Lam was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Phan Dung to strike the kick off in the second half. When Phan Dung came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Long Tan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phan Dung couldn't finish the play. If Huỳnh Tấn Dũng had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Huỳnh Tấn Dũng took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Phan Thi Ngoc. Phan Thi Ngoc dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. After 62 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Lao Cai! Lê Phuong went to the wrong direction when Đặng Nga was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Nguyễn Lam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 75 played minutes Lao Cai got a freekick which was hit by Lê Lien. Long Tan's Nguyễn Lam got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Ngô Binh managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lao Cai's supporters rose to their feet, but Ngô Binh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Phan Thi Ngoc breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nguyễn Lam's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lê Phuong read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. With a little luck, Lao Cai's Lê Phuong got control of the ball when Nguyễn Lam tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Nguyễn Lam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Long Tan's Phan Thi Ngoc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ngô Binh in the 91st minute of play.
