Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Bắc Ninh's Phùng Tuan started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bùi Viet could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Nguyễn Loc made a huge save. Phạm Tu hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. 14 minutes into the match, Dong Son's Trần Loc sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nguyễn Loc narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nguyễn Anh Hung took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Phùng Tuan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Van Tai Em was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dong Son's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bắc Ninh the free kick. The supporters of Bắc Ninh booed when Dong Son was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Van Tai Em didn't get a good kick on the ball. Trần Loc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 31st minute Nghiêm Cadeo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Anh Hung saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 38 minutes of play, Bắc Ninh's Nghiêm Cadeo made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nguyễn Anh Hung was left in no man's land by his defense there! Trịnh Lien's late challenge caught a Dong Son's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Trịnh Lien helped the player get up and apologised. In the 45th match minute, Bắc Ninh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phan Huỳnh to maneuver through the defense. 46 minutes into the match, Bắc Ninh's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Hong came free, but Nguyễn Loc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Trần Loc made a kick off. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Bắc Ninh's goalkeeper Nguyễn Loc, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 54 minutes into the game, Dong Son's Trần Loc nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nguyễn Loc made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After a rather tough play, Dong Son's Nguyễn Hong got a free kick in the 56th minute. A nice corner shot did that Trịnh Lien got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Nguyễn Anh Hung quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Nghiêm Cadeo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 67 minutes, Nghiêm Cadeo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bắc Ninh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nghiêm Cadeo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Phùng Tuan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mai Hung hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Nguyễn Anh Hung was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nghiêm Cadeo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 87 minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Phùng Tuan kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Nguyễn Anh Hung. That made the score 1-3 in the 92 minute of play.
