Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Trần Tran kicked off to start the match. Trần Tấn Dũng recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trần Tran in the 21st minute of the match. Trần Tran's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Lê Teo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Long Tan's supporters rose to their feet, but Lê Teo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Đào Ho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lê Teo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Đào Ho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, Son La's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Lam came free, but Đào Ho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trần Tran in the 35th minute of play forced Long Tan's goalkeeper Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trần Tran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lê Teo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Trần Tran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 48 minutes into the match, Trần Tran notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Long Tan's Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh. Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nguyễn Lam to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Son La getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Trần Phuong hit a great ball. When Lê Teo came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Long Tan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lê Teo couldn't finish the play. If Trần Tran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot by Phan Huynh Duc from long distance, 68 minutes into the match, got Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Lê Teo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. In the 75thth minute of the game Nguyễn Lam who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Son La's Đào Ho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Trần Tran in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh saved Long Tan from getting behind. Lê Teo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Đào Ho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute, Trần Tran got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nguyễn Loc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
