Lê Minh-ha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trịnh Cuc having to interfere. Nguyễn Tấn Dũng sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 25 played minutes Son Tay got a freekick which was hit by Hoàng Viet. In the 25th minute of the match Đỗ Nghiêm-Minh shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vương Huynh Duc showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Trịnh Cuc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lê Minh-ha in the 27th minute of the match. Vương Huynh Duc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lê Dinh, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Trịnh Cuc stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nguyễn Tấn Dũng's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Son Tay's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hoàng Viet in the 34th minute. A nice corner shot did that Hoàng Viet got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Trịnh Cuc quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Vương Huynh Duc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lê Dinh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Phạm Ritchell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Vương Huynh Duc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lê Dinh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nguyễn Tấn Dũng was the one to do the kick off. The Son's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Son Tay the free kick. In the 74th minute, Nguyễn Tan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Nguyễn Tấn Dũng put it in 2-3 from a short distance just to the right of Trịnh Cuc. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Lê Dinh managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Son's supporters rose to their feet, but Lê Dinh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vương Huynh Duc breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vương Huynh Duc didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lê Dinh went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-3 was the resulting score. In the 96th minute, Nguyễn Tan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The The Son fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-3. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The The Son fans cheered their team off the field, for while Son Tay had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
