Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) When Phạm Hung fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dong Son's protests and gave Phạm Hung a yellow card for diving instead. When the match had been going on for 7 minutes, Long Tan's Đặng Nga got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Nguyễn Anh Hung. Phan Thi Ngoc didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Trần Loc went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Dong Son's Huỳnh Cadeo got a free kick in the 14th minute. Nguyễn Lam could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Nguyễn Anh Hung made a huge save. Bùi Viet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Phan Thi Ngoc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hồ Phong hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Dong Son's Nguyễn Anh Hung got control of the ball when Nguyễn Lam tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 28th minute Phan Dung shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Anh Hung saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Hong kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Nguyễn Anh Hung showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phan Dung in the 33rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Dong Son defense, Nguyễn Lam kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nguyễn Anh Hung. The Dong Son fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nguyễn Anh Hung should have stopped the shot. Phạm Nam kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Trần Loc in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Phan Thi Ngoc saved Long Tan from getting behind. In the 45th minute Bùi Viet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Phan Thi Ngoc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Trần Loc was the one to do the kick off. When Trần Loc came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Dong Son fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Trần Loc couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Bùi Viet's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Phan Thi Ngoc was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. If Phan Dung had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 58 played minutes Dong Son got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Van Tai Em. After a rather tough play, Dong Son's Bùi Viet got a free kick in the 61st minute. Đặng Nga charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Đặng Nga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 63 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Long Tan! Phan Dung sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Lam in the 72nd minute of play forced Dong Son's goalkeeper Nguyễn Anh Hung to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Long Tan booed when Dong Son was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Huỳnh Cadeo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nguyễn Lam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 83 played minutes Long Tan got a freekick which was hit by Phan Dung. Trần Loc might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Phan Thi Ngoc. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Trần Loc ran back to his position shaking his head. Phan Thi Ngoc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trần Loc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 91 minutes into the match, Trần Loc dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Phan Thi Ngoc, 2-3. Nguyễn Lam recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 98 minutes, Phan Dung managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Long Tan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phan Dung was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Dong Son had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
