Ngô Binh helped the player get up and apologised. After 5 played minutes Lao Cai got a freekick which was hit by Ngô Binh. Bùi Hieu Ngan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ngô Binh's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. After 9 played minutes, Lao Cai's Triệu Tấn Dũng shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bùi Hieu Ngan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lao Cai reached it. 14 minutes into the match, LANGTOFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ngô Binh came free, but Bùi Hieu Ngan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th minute, Nguyễn Lan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nguyễn Duc kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Lê Phuong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lê Nhật Minh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Lao Cai's Ngô Binh in the 47th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Bùi Hieu Ngan was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for LANGTOFC through an amazing save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bùi Hieu Ngan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Huỳnh Tấn Dũng in the 65th minute of the match. When Huỳnh Tấn Dũng came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Lao Cai fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Huỳnh Tấn Dũng couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lê Nhật Minh got free with Lê Phuong in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. LANGTOFC's Hoàng Loc got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
