Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Nguyễn Lam made the kick off and thus started the match. The attack was good, but when Bùi Viet in the 5th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bùi Viet, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Nguyễn Anh Hung made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Lam in the 10th minute of play. Trần Loc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bùi Viet's late challenge caught a Long Tan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bùi Viet helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Long Tan booed when Dong Son was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bùi Viet didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bùi Viet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 35 minutes, Trần Loc managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dong Son's supporters crossed their fingers, but Trần Loc was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 38thth minute of the game Nguyễn Lam who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dong Son's Nguyễn Anh Hung was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Trần Loc was the one to do the kick off. Bùi Viet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh having to interfere. After 64 minutes, Huỳnh Cadeo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dong Son and the Long Tan players grew even worse after the yellow card. Huỳnh Cadeo hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. In the 65th minute, Lê Teo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Lê Teo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Long Tan's supporters rose to their feet, but Lê Teo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nguyễn Anh Hung breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nguyễn Nhật Minh hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Long Tan's Lê Tu got a free kick in the 70th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nguyễn Hong got free with Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Long Tan's zone, Trần Loc stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh came out of the goal and Trần Loc tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bùi Hoang hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. A collision led to Dong Son getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Nguyễn Van Tai Em hit a great ball. The Long Tan fans' excitement grew in the 76th match minute when Long Tan's Nguyễn Lam looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Dong Son booed when Long Tan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Huỳnh Hoang didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st minute, Trần Loc left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Dong Son fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 85th minute, Lê Teo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nguyễn Anh Hung was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. In the 93rd minute Bùi Viet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trần Loc in the 98th minute of play forced Long Tan's goalkeeper Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dong Son's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Long Tan had won, even though Dong Son had held more of the ball.
