The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Ba Ria's goal looked a bit too open when Phạm Thanh came free, but Lê Dung reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Tuy Hoa's Phan Hanh slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lê Dung. That made the score 1-2 after 34 minutes of play. Trần Duong's late challenge caught a Ba Ria's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Trần Duong helped the player get up and apologised. Trần Duong kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. In the 39thth minute of the game Phạm Thanh who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ba Ria's Lê Dung was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nguyễn Cuc kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. In the 45th minute, Hoàng Quang Thanh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lý Hung fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Triệu Quang Thanh having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Tuy Hoa's zone, Nguyễn Cuc stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Triệu Quang Thanh came out of the goal and Nguyễn Cuc tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Tuy Hoa's Triệu Quang Thanh got control of the ball when Chung Hung tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Cuc in the 83rd minute of play forced Tuy Hoa's goalkeeper Triệu Quang Thanh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
