Nguyễn Hieu Ngan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Dung having to interfere. 8 minutes into the match, Cheo Reo's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Cuc came free, but Lê Loc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 9 minutes, Chung Hung managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ba Ria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chung Hung was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Ba Ria booed when Cheo Reo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Huỳnh Thuy didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute Nguyễn Hieu Ngan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Dung saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Nguyễn Cuc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st minute of the match, Nguyễn Cuc tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Lê Loc saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Lê Loc didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nguyễn Cuc went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. With a little luck, Cheo Reo's Lê Loc got control of the ball when Chung Hung tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hồ Huy charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hồ Huy the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 35th minute, one of Cheo Reo:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cheo Reo. If Chung Hung had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ba Ria's Nguyễn Cuc in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cheo Reo's goalie prevented a goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nguyễn Hieu Ngan to strike the kick off in the second half. Võ Chi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lê Dung showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Hieu Ngan, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Chung Hung received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Lê Loc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nguyễn Cuc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Cheo Reo's Phan Than got a free kick in the 61st minute. Lê Dung took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Hieu Ngan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Nguyễn Cuc managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ba Ria's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Cuc was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lê Loc breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Nguyễn Cuc's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lê Loc was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Lý Hung sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lê Dung showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Hieu Ngan, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 81st match minute, Cheo Reo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phan Than to maneuver through the defense. Cheo Reo's Phan Than pulled a muscle in his back after 84 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 84 minutes into the game, Lý Hung was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ba Ria's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cheo Reo the free kick. After 85 played minutes Ba Ria got a freekick which was hit by Lý Hung. After a defensive mix-up in Ba Ria's zone, Nguyễn Hieu Ngan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lê Dung came out of the goal and Nguyễn Hieu Ngan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Ba Ria booed when Cheo Reo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Van Tai Em didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cheo Reo's Võ Chi got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ba Ria fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cheo Reo had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
