If Phan Thanh Bình had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Lao Bao booed when Cheo Reo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Lan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Trần Hoang's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lê Loc read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. If Nguyễn Hieu Ngan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lao Bao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cheo Reo the free kick. After 32 played minutes Lao Bao got a freekick which was hit by Trần Duc. Phan Than hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Phan Thanh Bình blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lê Loc having to make a save. Phan Thanh Bình sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Trần Hoang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Võ Chi's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 69thth minute, Tạ Anh Hung skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The supporters of Cheo Reo booed when Lao Bao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trần Minh didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nguyễn Hieu Ngan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Võ Chi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Huỳnh Thuy kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. In the 78thth minute of the game Trần Hoang who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cheo Reo's Lê Loc was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Võ Chi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cheo Reo's supporters rose to their feet, but Võ Chi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tạ Anh Hung breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Phan Thanh Bình hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Phan Thanh Bình sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Cheo Reo walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
