Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Phan Binh started the match with the kick off. In the 4th minute, Nguyễn Nga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 6 minutes into the match, Phạm Ho dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lý Huynh Duc, 1-0. Phạm Ho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vinh Long's Lý Huynh Duc proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Vinh Long from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Vinh Long's Hoàng Quang Thanh got a free kick in the 14th minute. If Phạm Ho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lâm Huynh Duc got free with Lý Huynh Duc in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 22 minutes into the match, Cao Lanh's goal looked a bit too open when Phan Binh came free, but Lê Hieu Ngan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Trần Minh-ha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Phan Binh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Hieu Ngan having to interfere. In the 31st minute Trần Minh-ha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Hieu Ngan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Trần Minh-ha put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Lê Hieu Ngan. If Phan Binh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lê Hieu Ngan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trần Minh-ha in the 44th minute of play. Lê Hieu Ngan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Phan Binh in the 45th minute of play. Trần Minh-ha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Lê Hieu Ngan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Phạm Ho to strike the kick off in the second half. After 59 played minutes Vinh Long got a freekick which was hit by Hoàng Quang Thanh. In the 59th minute of the match Đặng Minh-ha shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lý Huynh Duc showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Trần Minh-ha's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 63rdth minute, Lê Hieu Ngan skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Trần Minh-ha in the 65thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lê Hieu Ngan, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Phan Binh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lê Hieu Ngan was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from La Phuoc. The supporters of Vinh Long booed when Cao Lanh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trần Hong didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lê Hieu Ngan made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Trần Minh-ha sent off a good shot on target. After 81 played minutes Cao Lanh got a freekick which was hit by Đặng Liem. Cao Lanh's Lê Hieu Ngan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phan Binh in the 82nd minute of play. Trần Minh-ha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Lê Hieu Ngan made a huge save. La Phuoc kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Vinh Long had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
