Dương Loc made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Trần Van Quyen sent off a good shot on target. After 29 played minutes Ca Mau got a freekick which was hit by Trần Cong Vinh. Dương Loc made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Trần Van Quyen sent off a good shot on target. Dương Loc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trần Van Quyen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Viet Nam's Nguyễn Bien got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Trần Van Quyen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dương Loc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Bien, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. 43 minutes into the match, Viet Nam's Phạm Chi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dương Loc narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nguyễn Phong to make the kick off. The supporters of Ca Mau booed when Viet Nam was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lê Huy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Viet Nam's Nguyễn Hong proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Viet Nam from getting a goal against them. In the 58th minute, Phạm Chi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Trần Van Quyen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
