In the 6th minute Lê Loc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Hieu Ngan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Phạm Ho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phạm Ho in the 9th minute of play forced Buon Ma Thuot's goalkeeper Lê Pham to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Phạm Cadeo hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. If Phạm Ho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lâm Huynh Duc got free with Lê Pham in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Cao Lanh booed when Buon Ma Thuot was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phạm Cadeo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Buon Ma Thuot's goalkeeper Lê Pham had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lâm Huynh Duc. In the 30th minute, Phạm Cadeo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Đặng Minh-ha from long distance, 31 minutes into the match, got Lê Pham's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Phan Hoang received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Lê Hieu Ngan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lê Hieu Ngan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lê Loc in the 34th minute of play. Lâm Huynh Duc in the 40thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lê Pham, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Lê Loc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cao Lanh's Lê Hieu Ngan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lê Loc in the 45th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Cao Lanh's zone, Phan Hoang stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lê Hieu Ngan came out of the goal and Phan Hoang tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lê Loc was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Cao Lanh's Nguyễn Tấn Dũng got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Phan Hoang in the 53rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lê Hieu Ngan, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Lê Hieu Ngan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lê Loc in the 54th minute of play. In the 58th minute, Buon Ma Thuot's Lê Loc dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lê Loc in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lê Hieu Ngan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Phan Hoang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Trần Hong kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. If Phan Hoang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute, Đặng Minh-ha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Phạm Ho took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lê Pham. Lê Pham dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. The supporters of Buon Ma Thuot booed when Cao Lanh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Tấn Dũng didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lâm Huynh Duc in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lê Pham saved Buon Ma Thuot from getting behind. Lê Loc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Hieu Ngan having to interfere. 90 minutes into the match, Buon Ma Thuot's goal looked a bit too open when Phạm Ho came free, but Lê Pham reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Cao Lanh were victorious despite being under pressure from Buon Ma Thuot for much of the match.
