Nguyễn Ho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lâm Huynh Duc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phạm Ho in the 16th minute of play forced Quang Ninh's goalkeeper Nguyễn Ho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th match minute, Cao Lanh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Tấn Dũng to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Cong Vinh's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Lê Hieu Ngan firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 23 played minutes Cao Lanh got a freekick which was hit by Đặng Liem. Nguyễn Tấn Dũng hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Nguyễn Phuc recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lê Mai kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Lê Hieu Ngan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lê Loc in the 31st minute of the match. 32 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Cong Vinh cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Lê Hieu Ngan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Nguyễn Ho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lâm Huynh Duc in the 37th minute of the match. In the 38th minute, Vũ Khoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lê Loc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Hieu Ngan having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Cao Lanh's Nguyễn Tấn Dũng got a free kick in the 43rd minute. After 52 played minutes, Cao Lanh's Đào Khoi shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nguyễn Ho came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cao Lanh reached it. 56 minutes into the game, Trần Hong was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cao Lanh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Quang Ninh the free kick. Đặng Dung was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 57th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Nguyễn Cong Vinh's late challenge caught a Cao Lanh's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nguyễn Cong Vinh helped the player get up and apologised. Nguyễn Ho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Phạm Ho in the 64th minute of play. 66 minutes had been played when some careless play by Quang Ninh's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Đặng Minh-ha was slow to take the kick. During this time Cao Lanh's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Đặng Minh-ha got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Nguyễn Ho quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 71 minutes, Đặng Liem mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cao Lanh and the Quang Ninh players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Cao Lanh's Đặng Liem got a free kick in the 71st minute. Lê Hieu Ngan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Cong Vinh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Quang Ninh's Nguyễn Ho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Quang Ninh from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Cao Lanh booed when Quang Ninh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Phuc didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Phạm Ho came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Cao Lanh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phạm Ho couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Quang Ninh getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Nguyễn Hoang hit a great ball. Phạm Ho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Ho having to interfere. Lê Loc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Lê Hieu Ngan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Quang Ninh fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cao Lanh had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
