The crowd rose to their feet as RPT AK's Trần Minh Phượng slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hoàng Bien. That made the score 1-0 after 3 minutes of play. 7 minutes into the match, Buon Ma Thuot's goalkeeper Hoàng Bien had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nguyễn Tan. Phan Huỳnh recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 13 minutes into the match, Phạm Nhật Minh had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Phạm Diem. RPT AK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Phạm Nhật Minh was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Duong in the 16th minute of play forced RPT AK's goalkeeper Phạm Diem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Buon Ma Thuot's Nguyễn Duong in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye RPT AK's goalie prevented a goal. In the 17th minute, Phan Huỳnh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phạm Nhật Minh in the 19th minute of play forced RPT AK's goalkeeper Phạm Diem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nguyễn Nam took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Phạm Diem. Phạm Diem dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. After a rather tough play, RPT AK's Phan Huỳnh got a free kick in the 23rd minute. With his leg Hoàng Bien managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when RPT AK's Trần Minh Phượng fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 31 minutes into the match, RPT AK's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Nam came free, but Phạm Diem reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute Phan Huỳnh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hoàng Bien saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hoàng Chung during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hoàng Chung kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. RPT AK's Trần Minh Phượng got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Phan Huỳnh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 38 minutes, Phan Huỳnh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. RPT AK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phan Huỳnh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nguyễn Tuyet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Hoàng Bien tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Buon Ma Thuot getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Đoàn Tuyet hit a great ball. Trần Minh Phượng received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hoàng Bien came out and tried to block the shot, but Trần Minh Phượng slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 44th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Buon Ma Thuot's zone, Trần Minh Phượng stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hoàng Bien came out of the goal and Trần Minh Phượng tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Trần Minh Phượng was the one to do the kick off. Phạm Nhật Minh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phạm Diem having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Phạm Nhật Minh in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Phạm Diem saved RPT AK from getting behind. Hoàng Bien showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phan Huỳnh in the 64th minute of the match. Hoàng Bien didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Trần Minh Phượng went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-4 was the resulting score. When Trần Minh Phượng came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the RPT AK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Trần Minh Phượng couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Trần Minh Phượng's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hoàng Bien was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Hoàng Bien stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Trần Minh Phượng's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. After a rather tough play, RPT AK's Phan Huỳnh got a free kick in the 80th minute. Trần Minh Phượng received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Hoàng Bien tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Trần Minh Phượng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hoàng Bien having to interfere. If Nguyễn Tan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Trần Minh Phượng received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Hoàng Bien tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Buon Ma Thuot defense, Trần Minh Phượng kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hoàng Bien. The Buon Ma Thuot fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hoàng Bien should have stopped the shot.
