Hà Nội's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chau Doc the free kick. After 14 played minutes Hà Nội got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Duc. In the 16th minute, Nguyễn Huynh Duc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th minute, Nguyễn Minh-ha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 19 minutes into the match, Lê Cadeo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Trần Liem. Chau Doc's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lê Cadeo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Đặng Hieu Ngan in the 22nd minute of play forced Chau Doc's goalkeeper Trần Liem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Đặng Hieu Ngan scored 0-2 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Trần Liem, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Hà Nội getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Đặng Hieu Ngan hit a great ball. 45 minutes into the game, Đặng Hieu Ngan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hà Nội's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chau Doc the free kick. In the 45th minute, Đặng Hieu Ngan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 47 minutes into the game, Chau Doc's Nguyễn Huynh Duc nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Trần Ritchell made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nguyễn Lam to strike the kick off in the second half. When the match clock showed 52 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Đặng Hieu Ngan sped through Chau Doc's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Trần Liem. Đặng Hieu Ngan's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 55thth minute, Trần Liem skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 59 minutes into the game, Đặng Hieu Ngan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Trần Liem was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lê Van Tai Em kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Lê Cadeo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Trần Liem tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 69 minutes into the game, Bùi Thuyet was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hà Nội's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chau Doc the free kick. In the 71st minute, Nguyễn Lam ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Trần Ritchell was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. Nguyễn Huynh Duc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nguyễn Minh-ha hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Chau Doc's Lê Dinh got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Đặng Hieu Ngan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Trần Liem tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Trần Liem made an important save on a dangerous shot by Đặng Hieu Ngan in the 83rd minute. Đặng Hieu Ngan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 88 minutes into the match, Chau Doc's goalkeeper Trần Liem had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Đặng Hieu Ngan. Đặng Hieu Ngan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Trần Liem made a huge save. Đặng Hieu Ngan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Liem having to interfere. 94 minutes into the match, Chau Doc's goalkeeper Trần Liem had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Đặng Hieu Ngan. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Hà Nội walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
