The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kontum's Tôn Tấn Dũng got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 11th minute, Nguyễn Hung ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hoàng Thi Ngoc was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 16th match minute, Kontum was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Khoi to maneuver through the defense. Hoàng Thi Ngoc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Minh, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Nguyễn Hung managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bac Kan's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Hung was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hoàng Thi Ngoc breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 22 minutes, Tôn Tấn Dũng managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kontum's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tôn Tấn Dũng was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nguyễn Huynh Duc charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nguyễn Huynh Duc the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After taking down the ball on Kontum's corner Nguyễn Minh fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Võ Hieu quite easily take care of the ball. Tôn Tấn Dũng recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nguyễn Minh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Hoàng Thi Ngoc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Trần Hoang fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bac Kan's protests and gave Trần Hoang a yellow card for diving instead. Trần Hoang hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Trần Tho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Võ Hieu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trần Tho, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. With a little luck, Bac Kan's Võ Hieu got control of the ball when Tôn Tấn Dũng tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bac Kan's Nguyễn Minh got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nguyễn Hung stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Trần Tho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Võ Hieu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 56th match minute, Bac Kan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trần Hoang to maneuver through the defense. Võ Hieu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tôn Tấn Dũng in the 57th minute of the match. Trần Hoang got his second yellow card in the match during the 57th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Kontum booed when Bac Kan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trần Hoang didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tôn Tấn Dũng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Võ Hieu having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nguyễn Than during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 62 played minutes Bac Kan got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Than. After 66 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Bac Kan! Trần Minh-ha placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Tôn Tấn Dũng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Võ Hieu having to interfere. Nguyễn Minh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Hoàng Thi Ngoc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kontum's Tôn Tấn Dũng got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Võ Hieu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tôn Tấn Dũng went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. In the 81st minute, Nguyễn Minh fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 83rd minute Trần Tho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Võ Hieu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Khoi kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. After 85 played minutes Vũ Hoa shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Kontum's Hoàng Thi Ngoc to catch but Vũ Hoa was lucky. It became 1-3 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. Nguyễn Minh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd minute, Nguyễn Hung fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Hoàng Thi Ngoc, passed just outside the right post. Tôn Tấn Dũng received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Võ Hieu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Bac Kan's Nguyễn Hung got a free kick in the 96th minute. In the 97th minute, Tôn Tấn Dũng got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
