Trần Liem showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Than in the 4th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hoàng Than in the 9th minute of play forced Chau Doc's goalkeeper Trần Liem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kim Lien's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bùi Anh Hung was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 87th minute, Nguyễn Lam hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Nguyễn Khoi kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Trần Liem. That made the score 0-6 in the 94 minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Kim Lien left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Chau Doc.
