Nguyễn Minh had several of the Chau Doc's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 5 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Trần Liem as he didn't even see the shot coming. Nguyễn Hieu charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Chau Doc's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nguyễn Minh was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 21st minute, Bac Kan's Nguyễn Than ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Trần Liem. Trần Liem yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. A collision led to Chau Doc getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Dương Than hit a great ball. In the 26th minute of the match Vũ Hoa shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Trần Liem showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Trần Liem took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Hung, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lê Dinh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Võ Hieu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Nguyễn Lam came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Chau Doc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Lam couldn't finish the play. Chau Doc's Trần Liem played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Hung in the 32nd minute of play. Nguyễn Huynh Duc hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Võ Hieu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lê Dinh in the 35th minute of the match. Trần Liem showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Hung in the 40th minute of the match. Lê Nam kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Hung in the 43rd minute of play forced Chau Doc's goalkeeper Trần Liem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chau Doc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Lam was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Chau Doc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bac Kan the free kick.
