To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Trần Thi in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Trần Tho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nguyễn Hoa who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Nguyễn Nam when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Manchester United booed when Lam Dong was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lê Thai didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nguyễn Nam stood somewhat misplaced when Phạm Cadeo came free in front of goal and shot 1-1 to the left of him in the 34 minute. Trần Thi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Tho having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lâm Thanh to strike the kick off in the second half. Nguyễn Nam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Hoa in the 53rd minute of the match. Phạm Cadeo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Nguyễn Nam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nguyễn Phuc charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nguyễn Phuc the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Trần Thi kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Phạm Cadeo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lam Dong's Nguyễn Nam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Phuc in the 70th minute of play. Lê Hong Minh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Tho having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Nguyễn Phuc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 77 minutes into the match, Lam Dong's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Hoa came free, but Nguyễn Nam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Lâm Thanh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. But to his dismay, Trần Thi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The Manchester United fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Lam Dong were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
