Mai Thuy's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 2nd minute of play. Nguyễn Chuong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nguyễn Chuong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh having to interfere. Nguyễn Chuong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 20 minutes into the match, Tra Vinh's goal looked a bit too open when Chung Hung came free, but Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Chuong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute, Hoàng Loc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 27 minutes into the match, Tra Vinh's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Chuong came free, but Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Chung Hung had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the match, Hoàng Loc dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dương Liem, 1-0. With 36 minutes on the clock, Võ Phuong commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 35 minutes into the game, one of MASEW:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 38th minute of the game, Tra Vinh got a penalty. The shot went straight in by the left post. 44 minutes into the match, Tra Vinh's Đinh Phuong sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dương Liem narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, MASEW's Dương Liem got control of the ball when Nguyễn Hoang tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
Dương Liem made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Hoang in the 52nd minute of play. The supporters of Tra Vinh booed when MASEW was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lê Thi Ngoc didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Nguyễn Chuong managed to get in a good position for a shot. MASEW's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Chuong was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hoàng Loc in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dương Liem prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lê Thi Ngoc hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Hoang in the 69th minute of play forced MASEW's goalkeeper Dương Liem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 70 minutes into the match, MASEW's goal looked a bit too open when Phạm Dinh came free, but Dương Liem reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Chung Hung managed to get in a good position for a shot. MASEW's supporters rose to their feet, but Chung Hung was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 80 played minutes Tra Vinh got a freekick which was hit by Trần Loc. Chung Hung kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Trần Loc took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 89th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dương Liem. MASEW's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the MASEW players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Tra Vinh.
